Project Description:
As a facility to an existing large hospital at Aurangabad, a blood bank was desired to be built named after the freedom fighter late Shri. Dattaji Bhale. The building apart from being blood bank is expected to serve to society as a center for propagating blood donation activities and also conduct training programs and exhibition on blood donation. Building is designed to depict the personality of Late Shri. Dattaji Bhale. Central part of the building has a huge skylight.
Ground floor caters to blood bank activities and its first floor has a conference room, library, meeting halls and two guest rooms. Ground floor is made transparent with the use of glass partitions. The central naturally lit and ventilated part of the blood bank is often used as regular informal meeting place. To enhance the ventilation and light quality the building also has two courtyards on either side. Externally the building has an interesting scale which attracts the common visitor to the blood bank.
